The pictures shown in this article are from one of my photography series at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences. The theme of this issue of photography is: landscape (blue sky, white clouds, stone dang, lake, etc.). This article describes the composition of the picture from the perspectives of aesthetics and geology.
The Institute of Agricultural Sciences is located in the Dayi Management District of Changshu, less than 1 km from Mount Yu. Shidang is located in the Institute of Agricultural Sciences.
No.1:
The application of the foreground enlarges the depth of the picture, so a certain visual tension between the ground and the sky is formed. The house is located at the junction of the sky and the ground, and along the upper part of the house is a vast blue sky and floating white clouds. The whole picture looks quite like an oil painting, giving people a sense of tranquility and serenity.(1)

Fortunately, the weather was very good that day, so I could see large swathes of white clouds and blue sky. I added some filters to this picture, it looks like a retro style. (2)
The sky is so blue and vast, and when you look up, there are long white clouds. The most eye-catching thing under the sky is the azure blue lake, which is like a bright sapphire inlaid on the earth, mysterious and distant.(3)
(3)～(7) The lake surface shown in the figure is an artificial lake formed after years of quarrying. This area is called "Shidang".
Introduction to Shidang:
Shidang Park is located in Xiaoshan Village, Changfu Street, Changshu City, with Wangyu River in the south, Yiyu Road in the east, and Xiaoshan Village, the hometown of Gongwang in the north. It is only 1 km away from the urban viaduct.

The original terrain of Shidang is a lonely hill in the northern Yanyu vein of Yushan, named "Hill". This area belongs to the remnant hilly landform, surrounded by a flooded lake water networked plain, the terrain is low and flat, the original "hill" terrain is 30 meters above sea level, quarrying began in 1968, turned into recessed mining in 1980, and stopped mining at the end of 2006. Water accumulates in the dang, gradually forming a larger artificial lake.

The stone pit is a sunken oval open-air mining pit, about 450 meters long from north to south, 300-350 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of about 217.5 mu, and the deepest part is up to 70 meters above the ground. At present, the perimeter of Shidang water is about 1.6 kilometers, and the deepest part of Shidang water is about 45 meters. Two thirds of the Shidang slope is located underwater.
The Shidang is a rare landscape lake formed by artificial quarrying in the plains of China. The water body is of Class I water quality, the water temperature is maintained at about 10 degrees all year round, and there are many kinds of fish growing and birds inhabiting. With the change of seasons, the lake water is sometimes green and sometimes blue, like a bright pearl embedded in the park, attracting tourists and adventure lovers from all over the country.
