In "Dream of Red Mansions", Lin Daiyu said that she dislikes Li Yishan's (Li Shangyin) poems the most, but she has a soft spot for the phrase "leave the remnant lotus to listen to the rain". The remnant lotus indicates that a period of life is coming to an end. It is a kind of haggard, helplessness, reflection and determination after blooming flowers. Perhaps it is the "Tao" closest to Lao Tzu? Didn't Lao Tzu say to return to the roots? Can He Xu have to wait until autumn, rainy and lonely, to appreciate her condition, right?
